Supplier Code of Conduct

Introduction

The Bright Group (TBG) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of social responsibility and ethical conduct. This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and requirements for suppliers, subcontractors, private employment agencies, and sub-suppliers to ensure compliance with social responsibility standards.

1. Compliance with Social Responsibility Standards

Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including SA8000, the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, and International Labor Organization conventions. Suppliers are required to ensure that their downstream suppliers adhere to the same standards.

2. Child Labor

The use of child labour is strictly prohibited. Suppliers must ensure that all employees meet the minimum age requirements and provide accurate age documentation. Suppliers must not engage in any form of disguised child labour.

3. Forced and Compulsory Labor

Suppliers must prohibit any form of forced or compulsory labour, including prison labour, indentured labour, and bonded labour. Employees must have the freedom to leave their employment and must not be forced to work overtime.

4. Health and Safety

Suppliers must provide a safe and healthy working environment for their employees. This includes regular health and safety assessments, providing personal protective equipment, and conducting training on safe operating procedures.

5. Freedom of Association

Suppliers must respect employees’ rights to freely associate, join trade unions, and bargain collectively. Suppliers must not discriminate against employees for participating in union activities.

6. Non-Discrimination

Suppliers must prohibit any form of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, social origin, nationality, religion, physical disability, gender, sexual orientation, age, family responsibilities, language, marital status, union membership, political views, or other identities.

7. Working Hours

Suppliers must comply with legal requirements regarding working hours and overtime. Employees deserve breaks and should not be forced to work overtime.

8. Wages and Benefits

Suppliers must provide fair wages and benefits that meet local legal requirements and ensure that employees receive a living wage sufficient to meet their basic needs.

9. Environmental Protection

Suppliers must comply with environmental laws and regulations and take measures to minimize their environmental impact. This includes proper waste management, reducing emissions, and conserving resources.

10. Monitoring and Compliance

Suppliers must participate in regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with this Code of Conduct. Suppliers must provide accurate records and cooperate with TBG in addressing any non-conformities.

11. Corrective and Preventive Actions

Suppliers must take timely corrective actions to address any non-conformities identified during audits or assessments. Suppliers must implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues.

12. Communication and Training

Suppliers must effectively communicate the requirements of this Code of Conduct to their employees and provide necessary training to ensure compliance.
